Couple photos on Tegelberg

If you want couple photos that happen spontaneously and feel like time together, let’s photograph you right where nature, light, and the moment come together.
For me, the best thing about winter is clearly the snow. The crisp air, the light, and that special quiet that only cold days bring. That’s exactly what we had pictured for this couple shoot. But when I met Marius and Sandra that day, the fog was stubborn and hung deep down into the valley.
Down below, couple photos were out of the question. Cold, gray, and barely any visibility. So we stood there for a moment, looked at each other, and changed plans on the spot. Instead of staying in the valley, we decided, without hesitation, to head up to Tegelberg.
A spontaneous decision: up to Tegelberg
A quick look at the webcam at the Tegelbergbahn ticket desk made the choice easy: bright sunshine up top. While everything below disappeared into fog, a completely different world was clearly waiting for us above.
So we bundled up warm, got into the gondola, and rode up through the thick fog. That moment is always fascinating. You slowly move through the gray and have no idea what’s waiting for you.

Sun, snow, and perfect conditions for couple photos
When we arrived at the top and the gondola doors opened, everything we had hoped for was suddenly there. Sun, blue skies, snow. In that moment, my photographer heart honestly wanted to jump for joy.
We started the shoot nice and easy, still wearing our thick jackets. The mood was relaxed, and the two of them could simply arrive. After a short time, it became clear: up here it was so pleasant that we could take the jackets off soon. Couple photos in a sweater, right in the middle of winter.
Down in the valley, that would have been completely unthinkable that day. They probably would have frozen during a couple shoot. On Tegelberg, though, we had perfect conditions.
Couple photos without pressure and without posing
Marius openly said at the start that he was a bit skeptical. Taking photos isn’t really his thing. Like with many men. And that’s exactly why I love couple photos that happen without pressure.
We simply took a few steps, talked, laughed, paused in between. No classic “Now please smile,” no stiff posing. And because of that, his initial skepticism faded quickly.
After a short while, you could tell he was enjoying it. Not because he was being photographed, but because it didn’t feel like that. Because he had time with Sandra. You can see it in the photos. Both of them were so relaxed, natural, and fully in their own world.

The first shoot together
For Sandra and Marius, these were their very first couple photos ever. In a way, a little rehearsal, a practice run for their upcoming wedding.
Couple photos like this are perfect for that. You get a feel for what it’s like to be in front of the camera together, without it feeling unfamiliar. You learn that you don’t have to perform, you can simply be together.
Tegelberg offered a backdrop that naturally radiates calm and space. The mountains, the snow, the light. All of it supports you, without taking center stage.
Couple photos on Tegelberg, a decision that paid off
In the end, this day was a perfect example of why it’s worth staying flexible. The fog in the valley would have made the shoot impossible. The spontaneous decision to head up to Tegelberg gave us couple photos that fit the two of them perfectly.
These images don’t just tell the story of a winter day in the mountains, but of trust, closeness, and the courage to try something new. And sometimes, that’s exactly when the most beautiful memories are created.
