Wedding on Lake Como

Are you planning your wedding on Lake Como and want photos that don’t just show what your day looked like, but how it felt? Then feel free to share your ideas with us.
Lake Como is one of those places you don’t just visit – you experience it.
The narrow streets along the water, historic villas nestled among cypress trees, lively Italian villages, and that special spring light create an atmosphere that feels instantly different. It was there that I had the privilege of capturing this emotional destination wedding.
Even in the morning, it was clear that this day was going to be something special.

An Emotional Getting-Ready Session at Molino Maufet
The getting-ready session took place at Molino Maufet – an old mill nestled in the natural surroundings of Lake Como. Natural stone, winding courtyards, and open windows through which the first light of spring slowly streamed in.
While everything outside was slowly coming to life, an incredibly personal atmosphere developed inside. Even before the couple saw each other for the ceremony, they wrote emotional messages to one another.
Words about the years they’ve shared. About anticipation. About everything this day means to them.
It was precisely these moments that made the morning so special. No rush. No artificial staging. Instead, genuine emotions and that special anticipation just before a wedding.
Being there as a wedding photographer means exactly that: not constantly intervening, but capturing the moments exactly as they happen. The hands opening the letter. The brief pause while reading. Emotions that can never be repeated.

Through the villages of Lake Como to the wedding ceremony
After getting ready, the journey continued along the narrow roads around Lake Como to the wedding ceremony.
We passed small cafés, old houses with green shutters, and the quintessentially Italian villages that make Lake Como so unique. Everything here feels especially vivid, especially in the spring. The light is soft, the colors are vibrant, and everywhere there is a sense of Italian serenity.
The drive itself became part of the story. Windows open, conversations among the guests, and ever-present views of the lake between the houses.
It is precisely these moments that make destination weddings so special. Not just the wedding ceremony itself, but everything that happens in between.
A civil wedding ceremony right on the water
The ceremony took place right on Lake Como. It was officiated by an Italian registrar and a translator who made every word accessible to the guests. In the background was the water, in front were their closest loved ones, and right in the middle were two people who had deliberately chosen this location.
A wedding on Lake Como creates a special blend of elegance and emotion. Nothing feels overdone. The location itself sets the entire atmosphere.
During the ceremony, laughter, tears, and those quiet moments when no one needed to say a word alternated. It is precisely in those moments that the images are captured—images that later become not just memories, but a way to relive that day.

An Intimate Celebration on Lake Como
After the ceremony, the day continued right by the water. No grand stage, no over-the-top wedding. Instead, a day spent with their closest friends and family.
Amid Italian cuisine, long conversations, and views across Lake Como, the atmosphere that many couples dream of for their wedding in Italy came to life. Personal. Emotional. Stylish.
Especially at small destination weddings, a special closeness often develops among all the guests. No one gets lost in the flow of the day. Everything feels more intentional.
As the sun slowly set, the afternoon finally turned into a warm Italian spring evening. Conversations right by the water, soft music in the background, and that feeling of being completely in the here and now for a moment.
